Yeah more Africa footage! Good job. You’ve been very patient. Today’s videos that are posted here are the meat of our trip. The first is of the orphanages that we visited several times and the second is about where we spent most of our trip running a Vacation Bible School.

After a long wait we finally have all our video from Zimbabwe downloaded to You-tube. How exciting I know. There are several videos in the series and we will debut one every couple of days. This first one is a general overview of our trip to Cheridzi. So without further ado, enjoy the clip.

In honor of the election this week I made election cupcakes. Our small group enjoyed the elephants, donkeys, stars & flags. Good times. And yes - I did them by hand. (Jason mastered the donkeys - they were a little tricky). Three cheers for the USA & of course confection treats. Its good to be free.

Thanks to Google - here is a break down of the electoral votes. I thought it was a pretty cool application if you wanted more details about how the election went down.

This year Trunk or Treat was a huge success. We had 400+ pieces of candy when we started and ran out just at the end. (Granted we had some double or triple dippers that kept making it around to our trunk - our candy rocked). Lauren & Aaron brought their dog Axel and dressed him as a lobster. Super cute. Moses wore his pjs when it got colder - giving him the tiger look. Over all we had a great time hanging out at the church, seeing all the cute costumes and passing out candy.

We got to go to Chicago for a couple of days this week thanks to a really cool conference Jason had the opportunity to attend through work. Not only did we get to stay in a super sweet hotel room, we also got to see our family. Nikki, Andy & Jack live in Chicago and we had a ton of fun hanging out with them. Here are some pictures from our day with Jack & Nikki. To see the full album of our adventures click here.
We had a wonderful time at the Nature Museum seeing all the cool exhibits.
I especially liked seeing the butterflies hatch from their cocoons. Amazing.
We had a ton of fun at “Pump it Up” - a local play area kinda like Discovery Zone only 10 times better.
This is Jason’s favorite silly pictures of Jack.
It was hard to figure out who was having more fun … Jack or Uncle Jason?
Thanks Nikki, Andy & Jack for letting us crash your routine and hanging out with us while we were in Chicago. We had a great time. Love you!

The other night after the Colt’s game we got sucked in to this crazy show on TLC about a man called the “Tree Man”. Oh my goodness, it was so freaky. This poor guy in Indonesia suffers from a type of HPV that makes warts grow uncontrolled all over his body but are especially bad on his face, hands & feet. The pictures are unbelievable. I mean, I have never seen anything like it. The show we watched was all about how local & US doctors were collaborating to figure out a cure. Seriously though, it was so curious but hard to watch. Curious yet? Here is a little video about it. Warning: its not for the faint of heart.
